Your lake-town escape, one and a half blocks from the boardwalk
Welcome to Spruce Cottage. This peaceful, four-season, 1,500 sq ft cottage sleeps eight in four bedrooms, and it is a five-minute walk to the north end of the provincial park, beach and boardwalk. Salty's is nearby for good food and ice cream, and the tennis courts, play structures and marina are all within walking distance.
The space
The kitchen, dining room and sitting room form one bright open space under knotty-pine vaulted ceilings. A second living room gives the kids their own zone with games, puzzles and a smart TV, or a quiet place to reflect on the day at the beach. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, a coffee maker, toaster, microwave and BBQ utensils. Just bring your food, and don't forget the marshmallows. The master bedroom has a comfortable queen mattress and a pack 'n play. The second bedroom has a queen bed, the third has two twin beds (accessed through the master, so ideal for younger kids), and the fourth has a double bed. The bathroom has a shower only. Towels are provided for use in the cottage. Bring your own toiletries and beach towels. A first aid kit is in the vanity. Parking for two vehicles is at the back of the cottage off the back lane, and the BBQ is on the side. The front deck is where you want to be: chairs for your morning coffee, and a fire table for a glass of wine in the evening. The fire pit table and four chairs in front of the cottage are exclusively yours. Entertainment is your call: over 50 DVDs, plus puzzles, board games and books. In summer there are live bands on Saturday evenings at the boardwalk, and plenty of little shops to explore, including coffee shops, pizza places and ice cream.
The area
Winnipeg Beach is a vibrant, friendly beach town with restaurants, swimming, shops and fishing spots. A guest guide in the cottage lists local amenities, restaurants and things to do. The boardwalk is only 1.5 blocks away, overlooking the lake, with access for unsupervised swimming. A 10-minute walk along the water brings you to the supervised provincial park beach and the pavilion, where there are live bands on Saturday evenings in summer.
Good to know
Wifi is provided (Valley fibre), and there is a Keurig coffee maker (bring your pods). Beach towels are not provided. No parties or tents. Pets are not allowed on furniture or beds. No smoking or vaping in the cottage.
